how to cook rice

This is a very common Indonesian way to cook plain white rice, a recipe every daughter gets from her mum. No scale, no measurement, just using your finger.

Get the amount of rice that you need, put it in the rice cooker pot (or saucepan), put your index finger on top of the rice (do not sunk you finger to the rice), pour water until reach you first knuckle of your finger tips. and turn the rice cooker on!

If you don't use rice cooker, boil the water (with rice in it). Close the pan lid when it boiled. Don't forget to stir the rice occasionally to avoid overcooked on the bottom of the pan.

Adding salt or agar to your rice is optional.
